Night of purification — Yool Kim

Maybe you know exactly what a liberatory relationship should look like, but when conflict actually arrives, something else takes over.

You freeze and lose access to your words. You explain yourself until there is no room left for the other person’s pain. You agree to things you do not want because telling the truth feels more dangerous than abandoning yourself. You become defensive when someone tells you that you hurt them, not because you do not care, but because your body hears accountability as the beginning of exile. You disappear, appease, escalate, shut down or leave before anyone else gets the chance to leave you.

And afterward, you understand everything.

You can see the pattern. You know where it came from. You can name the trauma response, identify the unmet need & explain why your nervous system reacted the way it did. But insight arrives after the moment in which you needed it, and the relationship has already absorbed the impact.

Perhaps conflict has already cost you friendships, partnerships, organizing spaces or professional relationships. Perhaps you are living inside a rupture that never received repair. Perhaps you are preparing for a difficult conversation and terrified that, once again, your body will make the decision before you can.

Or perhaps nothing is actively falling apart, but you simply know that when the next conflict comes (and it will) you want to meet it differently.

This is why I created Liberation Practice Field.

LPF is an 8-week journey into abolitionist somatics, Transformative Justice, conflict, power, intimacy, accountability, repair and healing. It is for people who are tired of knowing what liberation means intellectually while continuing to reproduce punishment, avoidance, domination and self-abandonment in the relationships that matter most.

Conflict is the smallest unit of abolition and liberation cannot remain a political identity. It has to become something your body knows how to practice when someone disappoints you, when a boundary is crossed, when you are asked to take responsibility, when your needs collide with someone else’s or when love is no longer enough to protect a relationship from your unhealed patterns.

Inside LPF, you will learn concrete somatic and relational tools that you can bring into the relationships and communities you already have. You will learn how to recognize what happens inside you before you freeze, appease, disappear, over-explain or explode; how to set boundaries without turning them into punishment; how to hear another person’s pain without collapsing into shame; how to apologize without making forgiveness the proof that you are still good; and how to understand when repair is possible, when protection is necessary and when separation may be the most loving choice available.

You will also learn to recognize the near enemies of safety, dignity, belonging and connection: the survival strategies that resemble what you need so closely that you may have mistaken them for the real thing. Control can feel like connection. Avoidance can feel like safety. Defensiveness can feel like dignity. Self-abandonment can feel like belonging.

But the body learns on yes.

It learns every time you tell the truth and remain connected to yourself. Every time you survive someone’s disappointment without rushing to erase it. Every time you make a mistake, take responsibility and discover that accountability does not have to end in humiliation. Every time you choose curiosity where certainty once protected you.

Those experiences slowly create more space inside the body. They make another response possible.

You do not need to become perfect at conflict. You need enough capacity to remain present when perfection is no longer available.

This work is especially for you if you are an organizer who has watched movements fracture under the weight of unresolved relational wounds; a therapist, educator, care worker or leader who wants your practice to reflect your politics; or simply someone who is tired of losing yourself—or losing people you love—to patterns you finally feel ready to change.

The early-bird enrollment for the next Liberation Practice Field is now open privately to paid subscribers of Erotics of Liberation, LPF alumni and those on the waiting list before registration opens publicly.

If you are ready to close the gap between the relationships you believe in and the relationships your body currently knows how to create, Id love to practice alongside you. Follow the link to secure your spot today:
